This is the start my own Restaurant Page.  I worked 20 years in the Restaurant Business before I started in Real Estate in 1989.  I've put that experience to work to share some of what I consider to be the most satisfying dining experiences in the greater Grand Rapids Area.

My all time favorite restaurant and the absolute finest dining experiences I've ever had, were at a restaurant in Midland, Michigan that is sadly, no more.  Karen says that I've never forgotten a wonderful meal, and at least in the case of Justine, that could be true.  Everything was always absolutely perfect, selection, service, presentation, ambience. 

In West Michigan, the restaurant that, for me, comes the closest, is 1913 at the Amway Grand Plaza.  We don't dine there often, but have always enjoyed the perfection. Gentlemen, a jacket is required!  If you want a slightly less formal atmosphere, and don't want dinner  to be the evening, try the Grill at 1913.  The menu is diverse, the staff,  exceptionally well trained and always an outstanding dining experience.  Reservations strongly suggested for both.

At the other end of fancy, is The Cottage Bar, a neighborhood bar and grill tucked away near downtown.  I've seen lot's of reader's polls that rate it the source of the Best Burger in Grand Rapids.  I would not disagree.  Their Chicken Chili is some of the best I've had anywhere, and has a a bit of a kick to it!
